@qwerty i set up an instance with fedi express and it put all of my shit in weird directories. i had to update it manually and go on a hunt through the files to see where the correct folders were instead of just being able to use terminal to easily update. then when i tried to do an update later through fedi express it borked the whole instance.
it's a good service to get you into it, but i don't know how great it is for a long term solution or if you want to stay updated on your instance software. if you have the technical know-how, it is much better to figure out how to do it yourself.

@beardalaxy @beardalaxy absolutely fediexpress is not for a long term instance but it's easy to get into and gets you familiar with actually running an instance when you're a complete novice to tech
