Another question this time for #gamedev side of masto.

Im very much "Young Blood" in the industry so my time doing dev work has either been in Unity or a proprietary engine.
What about #godotengine can you tell me is a plus over #unity ? Easier to learn? Less resource overhead?

@illusionofmana it's really light, in fact it can run in a web browser so there is a lot of utility there.

it's not as robust as unity and can't be used to make games for consoles out of the box like unity can, you need third party software or porters to do that.

i haven't used it myself but from what i have seen, it seems a lot easier to use than unity and more streamlined.

godot is also open source and free (as in freedom) so there won't be any royalties to pay up if you are making a commercial game, like there would be with unity or unreal.
