So, all the stuff I prepared for today's D&D session last night went COMPLETELY UNUSED and the party is now headed in a COMPLETELY opposite direction xD I'll be able to use all of it later but none of it happened today.

Why?

They decided to pull every card left in the deck of many things, and one of the party members got yeeted from existence :meru_lul:

That has some other cool implications on the story though so I'm not too mad. The plot has already shifted quite a bit now and I'm interested to see where it goes!

That was one of the more fun and engaging sessions my players have had in a long time, though. It felt a lot more like when we first started. I felt like I was on top of the explanations of things instead of just going through motions. Some sort of magic in the air. Could be that I've been getting more sleep recently xD

@beardalaxy I played a TTRPG last week, my first game actually and it's super fun. Though most of my party members are useless.

@MK2boogaloo that's good to hear! it can be a great time. it can be pretty hard to build up party cohesion at first, but give it some time and a few quests and that will change! everyone starts to settle into their roles.

@beardalaxy no that's not the problem, we've been through a couple session already but it seems to me that I'm the only one with common sense in our party. The warrior is only interested with fighting, the paladin doesn't want to heal me, the knight is a fed. Smh, being rogue is pretty hard.

Kero my Tengu loving fren. I have some terrible news for you.

@Awoo @MK2boogaloo at least in 5e, the assassin rogue subclass is capable of dealing some pretty absurd damage. get you three levels as an assassin rogue and you get advantage on any creature who hasn't taken a turn in combat, and remember you get to add sneak attack dice to one of those attack rolls. then add that they auto crit any enemy who is surprised. very high chance of critical damage. i frequently have the ranger/rogue in my group dealing 50-60 damage on a crit.
