My CPU supports 256 GB of RAM.

My motherboard has 8 DIMM slots but says it only supports a max of 128 GB of RAM.

Is there any reason that slapping in 8 32GB sticks of RAM wouldn't work? I don't get it.

@sjw what I really don't get is how my brother's mobo and cpu both say it'll support 128gb but he can't even get 4x8 to work. It only reads 16gb at a time and none of the slots or ram sticks are busted.

Computers, man. It's always something.
