Huh, thinking about trying gummies as I can get a $50 gift card. I've heard from people online as well as doctors IRL that they can be very effective at treating nerve pain.

@beardalaxy Welp I'll have them in 7-12 days. I'll probably do a review on them as well. I don't have super high hopes but holy shit if they do actually help my neuropathic pain then that'll be tits!

@sjw @caekislove @cowanon @top yeah it's best to keep your hopes relatively low. The ones I tried didn't do anything for my seizures unfortunately.

one of the meds i was prescribed was actually a mood stabilizer for bipolar as well.
Interestingly enough the same medication used to treat seizures is also used to treat nerve pain. Well, both anticonvulsants and antidepressants are used. Both are actually pretty similar and some antidepressants are used to treat seizures as well.
I currently take neurontin/gabapentin which falls into the anticonvulsant class.
Whereas gabapentin is a GABA analogue, cannabinoids have a similar effect by affecting both the GABA receptors as well as the GABA transmitters:

So there's at least something to it. The main thing is we don't really understand why nerves be the way that they is but they do. We have some ideas but don't know for sure. That's why some medication might work for some people but not others. We don't fully understand why and it's likely that several things can cause similar issues but we are just beginning to understand brain chemistry so we don't understand how or why yet.
Sort of like when bacterial was first discovered and linked to illness. We didn't know how it made people sick just that it did. Now we understand bacterial infections in pretty great detail and can also treat them with ease.
When it comes to anything brain/nerve related we're pretty much at the very first steps of just identifying things and trying to understand. We'll get there eventually tho.
