of course i get recommend this video today.
when i started playing rift apart, i was in the mindset of "this is just another game i need to get off my backlog because i won't be able to even play it soon and tears of the kingdom is coming out right around the corner."
i maintained that line of thought throughout the entire game.
right until i look at the save select screen for the last time.
it hit me pretty hard and is now hitting even harder that i actually really, really enjoyed the game and even though it was only, what, 16 hours or something i felt really attached to the characters and the story.
the last time this happened was all the way back in, what... 2015? i 100% completed infamous second son and got hit with that wave of post-game depression, realizing that i had done everything there was to do and that if i ever wanted to play it again, it would never be the same. it's a pretty weird, surreal experience.
i can't imagine what it's like to play something like an MMO for a decade and then have the servers shut down. i know it'll inevitably happen to PSO2 at some point. don't wanna' think about that and i've only played for 4 years.
@beardalaxy I feel this with most games these days 🥺
