Did someone ask for fedi's biggest zelda defender?

@rasterman @ChristiJunior if you do play oot make sure you do it with ship of harkinian. It has a lot of options to make the game a lot better, including a free camera and a second group of equippable items. Not to mention unlocked frame rate.

Games being $70 right now is still relatively cheap when you consider the production costs especially. Companies were charging $60-$80 in the 80s and 90s for games that were developed in less than 2 years. People are only mad about the price because the quality of the games has been degrading significantly, and you tack the time it takes to make them on top of that and it can feel like a slap in the face. Then you add shitty DLC and MTX on top of that and it's just sad at that point.

I've been playing Tears of the Kingdom for over 40 hours now and, as someone who MIGHT buy 1 full price game a year, it's fucking incredible. There's so much content here. I'm MAYBE 1/4 through the game and that's a pretty high estimate. $70 is absolutely worth it for this game. The only real problem with it is performance because the Switch is so old, but it's easy to look past that when the rest of the game is so damn good. I actually have to take breaks to recollect myself because it's been a long time since I played something this packed. Just this morning I found an item that introduces a completely new mechanic and I was gobsmacked that something like that could be hidden this deep into the game. It just keeps happening too and I haven't even gotten to the point where I get to grind on rails yet.

And about the soundtrack, I actually think it is better than BotW's. It's a lot more dynamic and it seems like there are just more tracks in general, and they really accentuate the cinematic parts to give you goosebumps. It isn't as good as Wind Waker's or Skyward Sword's, but it is a champion at using leitmotifs from other games and using them to great effect. To be honest, I kind of separate OSTs from the games they come from. I fucking love the Chrono Trigger/Cross soundtracks but I'm not a huge fan of the games themselves. Same thing with Jet Set Radio.

There is a chance that I'm fedi's biggest Zelda defender lmao xD I fucking love Zelda, I've got 2 tattoos from it. There are games in the series I don't like though, Minish Cap/Twilight Princess/Majora's Mask in particular. The last two have GREAT music though.

@beardalaxy @ChristiJunior See, this is what the Fediverse's biggest Zelda defender would say.

I won't play a modded version of OoT for a first playthrough, though. I want something resembling the real deal. Like with this horrendous series I played recently. I could've used the "save assist" option in the collection, but no. I chose the path of perpetual torment.

@rasterman @ChristiJunior yeah you don't have to mod the shit out of it or anything. Just some nice QoL features that bring the game to a bit more of a modern standard.
