Seriously, at any point in time I'd struggle coming up with a Top 5 prettiest female characters list, EXCEPT for the #1 spot, which would inevitably be Pyra. Her design is like catnip to me, it checks ALL my boxes, including the ones that you wouldn’t normally associate with Waifus, like my fondness for “overcomplicated” designs. I consider the idea that “the best designs are the simplest designs” to be utter bullshit, the most marketable and commercially viable maybe, but not the best. When we have fantasy worlds of boundless possibilities, I’m not really interested in settling for some basic princess or longhaired tomboy design (I can understand the appeal of the likes of Peach and Tifa, but for me they’re a bit basic). Enter Pyra.
Pyra’s design literally has everything I’m looking for, so many different beautiful, cool and badass elements that come together beautifully and create a character that stands out wherever she goes. I remember rewatching the Pyra/Mythra Smash Bros. reveal, specifically the scene of Pyra fighting the established Smash characters and thinking “wow, Pyra just looks so much cooler than any other character in this game, goddamn!”. At pretty much any random point in Xenoblade 2 where Pyra is on the screen and somewhat prominent, you can take a screenshot and just marvel at how utterly scene-stealingly gorgeous the girl is.
Pyra’s much-criticized outfit is actually one of her biggest selling-points for me. It makes her look like a mix of warrior princess, magical girl, swordfighter and fanservice Waifu-bait, all which fit her in various ways. Her tiara and fancy earrings (a single one of which is worth 60 000 gold according to Pyra herself) bring to mind royalty, which is fitting, since Pyra as an Aegis is the Master Blade (reflected in the unique, emerald-colored cross-shaped core crystal on her chest, and various glowing parts of her outfit), and stands above every other Blade in Alrest. As a Blade she’s quite the magical creature, able to summon weapons in and out of existence, as well as summon massive fireballs and use various other fiery attacks. Pyra can wield her massive, imposing flame-powered sword with great skill, and is also an incredibly acrobatic fighter. Fittingly, while Pyra’s outfit is blessedly heavy on the fanservice, it is notably fanservice *armor*, so stuff like wrist protectors and shoulder pads are part of her outfit. Another underrated aspect of Pyra’s design is what the Xenoblade Wiki describes as her “reverse drape scarf-like cape”, effectively a cape completely lacking its main (middle) portion, giving Pyra what almost looks like a pair of wings, while at the same time leaving your view of her largely naked back and her booty shorts-clad butt completely unobstructed.
Being able to combine the best of both worlds is a hallmark of Pyra’s design. For example, her outfit perfectly reflects Xenoblade’s own special blend of sci fi and fantasy, being too futuristic for a pure fantasy setting, but too fantastical for a hard sci fi setting. Her colors are strong and bold, primarily a mix of red, pink, green and black, with some gold as well, in addition to Pyra’s own White skin. The elaborately designed outfit almost completely covers her frontal upper body and her legs, drawing a sharp and all-the-more titillating contrast with the areas of her body that ARE left largely uncovered, with plenty of naked flesh on display.
The bared spots on Pyra’s body are strategically chosen, taking her already perfect body (almost impossibly slim and curvy simultaneously) and further accentuating its charms. Pyra is famous for her boobs, which are perfect in both shape and size. Any bigger, and it’d be too much, like a delicious meal that you overindulged on, but Pyra’s boobs are only as big as the maximum you can get away with on a body as slim as hers, no bigger. However, note that Pyra’s outfit doesn’t really emphasize her breasts, she does have a boob window of sorts, but the actual tits are fully covered by tight-fitting dark cloth, which is still hot, but doesn’t draw nearly as much attention to itself compared to the areas of her outfit that generously show off bare skin. Meanwhile, Pyra’s butt, which while firm and shapely would normally be completely overshadowed by her chest, is aggressively emphasized, due to Pyra’s tight, tiny booty shorts.
This is in my opinion is a better way of “balancing” Pyra’s body than by simply giving her big boobs AND a fat ass, which doesn’t really work with the overall slimness of her body, IMO you can only get away with one or the other. Note that the people designing Nier Automata’s 2B had the same idea – while 2B has a deliciously big and juicy ass, her bust is very modest. However, 2B’s outfits also neglect her boobs while lovingly showing off her ass, making Pyra’s design more balanced overall from a fanservice perspective. The same goes for how regardless of whether you look at Pyra from the front or from the back, there’s a lot to enjoy (lovely face + perfect boobs or backless outfit and booty shorts, pick your pleasure).
Oh yeah, Pyra’s face is perfect too of course. While I usually favor green eyes, Pyra’s striking red eyes suit her fine and further brings out her fire-theme. And given her complicated outfit, a simple, yet cute and feminine bob cut works really well to ground her overall design a bit. Of course, redheads are Perfection, so no complaints there. And despite her outfit, Pyra’s face is all about being cute rather than sexy, with big, expressive eyes and no lipstick, which I love. Indeed, some people (or as I call them, retarded niggers) even accuse Pyra of being “child-coded” due to her youthful appearance, innocence and purity, ignoring the fact that these are all feminine ideals. To be fair, Pyra being so fresh-faced and wholesome has enabled her to start a relationship with a 15 year old boy while avoiding the kind of Groomer jokes that the likes of Misato and Makima have been hit with, but really, Pyra’s ambiguous age is just part of the genius of her character; simultaneously ancient and inexperienced, all-knowing and naive, a mother figure and a traumatized girl in need your protection, Pyra comes across as an ideal Waifu for literally any straight man with a sex drive, regardless of age. Let’s also get a bit into Pyra’s personality, because obviously it’s part of her appeal. I’m not gonna do any in-depth character analysis in this thread, but suffice to say, she’s a genuinely good and sympathetic character with a lot of depth to her, and there’s actually a very good in-universe explanation for Pyra being such a perfect Waifu.
Because Pyra really IS the perfect Waifu: Unfailingly polite, considerate, sweet and pleasant, a submissive people pleaser that’s quick to apologize for any real or perceived wrong she commits, Pyra is about as far from the Modern Feminist Woman as she can possibly be. Of course, Pyra *does* have a backbone, indeed, she has ferocious willpower and WILL stand up to injustice committed against others, but tooting her own horn or putting others down to make herself feel better is completely foreign to her nature.
Here’s also a girl who’s not only an excellent cook, but who’s happy to wash the dishes afterwards, indeed, she explicitly says that she *likes* to help out around the house, because it’s satisfying for her to prove herself useful outside of battle. She’s actively looking for ways to make herself more appealing and attractive to her man (that’s what the notorious Blushy Crushy heart-to-heart was all about), and obviously chill enough that she has no problem sharing Rex with two other women (hell, one Xenoblade 2 intro screen shows her actively inviting Nia to join her, Rex and Mythra).
At the same time, there are reasons to think that Pyra’s not quite as innocent as she makes herself out to be. For starters, she’s Mythra’s other self, sharing Mythra’s extensive knowledge about the world, which would naturally include an understanding of the male mind (which Mythra considers quite perverted) and terms like “one-eyed monster”….so when you see Pyra repeatedly shoving her tits in Rex’s face, I’m tempted to pull a Marco Rubio and say that she knows exactly what she’s doing. She also jumps to the assumption that Rex is a Sadist remarkably quickly after he accidentally rubs some medicine a bit too hard on a flesh wound of hers, which would also seem to hint at Pyra having some “interesting” ideas about the male mind.
Basically, while Pyra really IS in possession of all the ideal female virtues, there’s no reason to assume she’s this über-sheltered womanchild whose first response to seeing a penis would be to scream and cry (and that’s even without considering how Rex has probably not even hit 20 by the time he makes her a mother). If anything, Pyra has a distinct “Lady in the streets, Whore in the sheets” energy to her, and within the lewder spaces of the Xenoblade 2 fandom there seems to be a widespread belief that she’s sexually a lot more confident and assertive than Mythra, who’s viewed as surprisingly meek and submissive when truly rendered exposed and vulnerable. While certainly not the kind of “dommy mommy” that Fagmenco seeks, Pyra is at the very least perceived as more adventurous and daring, while still very much committed to pleasing her man (who she’s also happy to share).

Joker is basically the same, including the mk leo bit. Top players have developed great counterplay against him.
Steve is literally banned because of an exploit where he gains invulnerability and if you hit him he becomes immediately actionable, and it's really hard to tell if that's actually what happened. He's a menace. Even before he was banned, people were screaming to ban him because he is indisputably the best character in the game. You have mid level players using "ban Steve" as their tag winning majors or getting top 8s, that's a problem xD
