@beardalaxy well, it is in the hand of retro studios and they are fresh off remastering prime so chances are that given enough time they will be able to put out something good as this time around they don’t have some of the unreasonable requests they got on the rest of the “trilogy” like making a whole new model when they were months away from releasing an entry (prime 2)

@monsterislandcolonizer @beardalaxy also the metroid prime is not a “metroid” (the green floating jellies of absolute fuck) but was called that because in chozo (bunch of nerds reconstructed the language more or less so that other nerds can learn it) ‘metroid’ means something between “ultimate warrior” and “apex predator”

@EdBoatConnoisseur @monsterislandcolonizer I thought that there were a bunch of different types of metroids with different designs based on their age and such. The jellies are the baby metroids, right? Then you have older ones that actually grow limbs and stuff.

@beardalaxy @monsterislandcolonizer yes, the lore is that those were genetically engineered by the chozo, then there are phazon induced mutations from trilogy and the “super metroid” from super metroid that was heavily experimented on by space pirates as that one had the genetic coding to become a queen.

that is why the omega metroid at the end of fusion is so different.

@monsterislandcolonizer @beardalaxy yeh, the chozo scientists got a bad habit of being overconfident with their creations… in universe that is the reason for the chozo of elysia (the ones who built a self propelled laboratory-observatory-town on a gas giant and a race of sentient automatons just to flex that they could) decided to leave elysia and live “simpler” lives in harmony with nature to regain their spirituality in Tallon IV (and zebes)
