@rick @enigmatico you can still update without any issues while lacking tpm. They only require it for their encryption software iirc. You just need to change something in the registry I believe and then you can update.

Might not be a good idea to do that if the laptop is old enough, though. Older people who aren't very tech literate have a really hard time getting used to a new OS too, and 11 is way different from a UI perspective. If you do install it for her in the future, I'd recommend modding it up to look/feel like her Windows 10 install.

@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club @rick@a.n0id.space If you use rufus to create the usb, it can disable the tpm requirement for you.

@beardalaxy @enigmatico problem is not that she can't handle win11, but that the hardware is still pretty decent and fast ^^
