@NotImportant @WashedOutGundamPilot @givenup It's like the one major Nintendo series that follows the same protagonist over the course of many games and tells a cohesive story, and even has an official manga Metroid backstory. Even if the Metroid games themselves aren't story-heavy, Samus has been through A LOT.

Samus doesn't have brunette hair, that ended with Prime, and the varia suit is significantly larger than her. We don't call Mario jumpman or talk about Pauline. I hate this retarded nonsense from some booklet in 1994 because when it's about another character or series suddenly it doesn't count

She got barely any pomp when she was in Odyssey, treated correctly as a nostalgic reference. Nobody is requesting Peach be replaced by Pauline or that she was the original princess like Sonic autists do with their irrational hatred of Amy over Sally

Nah, Pauline is a good character and she's definitely back in more of a spotlight now. After Odyssey she's one of the Mario girls as opposed to an obscure piece of trivia. Obviously Pauline shouldn't "replace" Peach, but she can coexist alongside other Mario girls.
