@cjd This happens all the time. Not just medical either. Schools need to publish X amount of papers to keep up accreditation and grant money.

They sign off on each other's work all the time. One hand washes the other.

@HSTG @cjd this is exactly why i don't donate to any sort of research or charity anymore.

a similar thing happened with alzheimer's research where the last 14 years of research were invalidated because someone had fudged their studies.

then there's the guy who faked having discovered several elements. he wrote the software used in that process and so he knew how to fudge it.

Exactly. Problem is student debt, grants and carry the extra weight of 501C is still a burden on tax payers. Even if you don't volunteer, you get volentold by .gov.
