I watch two streamers primarily, vargskelethor (Joel) and vinesauce (Vinny).
Joel was playing a game a couple of months ago with bugs in it that you kill and was screaming about the only good bug being a dead bug. Chat was loving it. It's crazy to think how fast discourse around that changed because I bet if he did that like a couple weeks ago, people would unironically think he was a fascist.
Vinny, last night, was talking about how despite video games being the most popular media, many people still look down on it as a lesser form of entertainment and apply standards/generalizations to it that don't exist in other kinds of media. Of course, he usually stays away from spicier takes, but I'm sure we can all kind of understand what he's getting at there. Hell, it seems like even the people making the games do that these days.
