How do real musicians deal with ear fatigue?

@Dullahan @riserise my ears are permanently damaged because my brother and his friend blew whistles directly into them when we were younger. My left ear rattles at certain frequencies. I just put up with it.

@riserise @Dullahan yeah, you get used to it mostly. My hearing range cuts off at around 15k, for most people I believe it's like 18k. Thankfully I don't get tinnitus very often, it's just that rattling that pops up from time to time.

What's more annoying is that my inner ears itch all the time and nobody can figure out why.

@beardalaxy
I have pretty much the same issues, though unsure about the rattling if it is what I think it is. I had also constant ear infections as a little kid and had to get pipes in my ears (which were removed after few years).

I need to constantly rinse my ears and what comes out isn't pretty lol Maybe having pipes in still would help? I don't really know why these ear issues happen.

Oh and after flying in an airplane it feels like there are bubbles in my ears and everything sounds under water for days (I've flown only twice though).

I can recommend rinsing your ears regularly to help on the itching. Those oils etc really didn't work at all for me.
@riserise @Dullahan

@susie @Dullahan @riserise thanks, I'll give that a shot. The oil stuff didn't really work for me either. I'm still a little unsure if it has to do with my ears directly or if it is a tonsil or jaw issue, because the itch is pretty deep and the ENTs couldn't really figure it out. But I'll give anything a shot lol.

@beardalaxy @Dullahan @riserise If it is that deep then I don't think it will help. But can't hurt to try! For rinsing I use one of those "big" 100-200ml or so syringes, but anything you can pour in to your ear with without fully blocking it works (so extra liquid can pour out).

Tonsils or jaw sounds likely to me as well. Could also be a dental issue (teeth are connected to a lot of stuff in the skull, surprisingly), but I guess you'd know if your teeth were in that bad shape lol

@susie @Dullahan @riserise idk why I forgot this lol but I rinse them in the shower. So yeah probably a different issue. I don't have great genetics when it comes to teeth so it could be that. It started happening a little after I got my wisdom teeth out so maybe it's something fucky. Though I actually asked the dentists about it once and they had never heard anything like itchy ears stemming from teeth issues. They've heard about ear pain but not itches.

I'm just a medical anomaly in all aspects of my life xD
