theory: nintendo switch 2 will be extremely similar to the first one, right down to cross-gen compatibility being a thing for at least a couple of years.

yuzu was stricken down because part of nintendo's offering on the new console is that you will be able to bring your switch games over and play them with higher frame rates and higher resolutions, something that yuzu already does.

they need to incentivize the buyer, and if that's all they have to offer then it won't be great if there is already something on PC that can accomplish the same feats.

ryujinx made it out alive because it is based in brazil lmao.

@rosey in the demo at i think gamescom(?) last year, the "target hardware" for the switch 2 was supposedly playing breath of the wild at 4k 60fps and was able to play the matrix unreal demo. likely with something like DLSS but still, i think their goal is to actually get these games running better. it remains to be seen what exactly that process will look like, though.
