i'm sure gaben probably has some legal escape hatch but i would definitely just issue the refunds en masse for anyone in a region thats blocked from complying with the requirement.
@icedquinn This has turned into a shitshow of humourous proportions. Can't imagine many being denied refunds. The bad PR would be too great if Valve were to deny refunds.
@Forestofenchantment if you request it through the 'gib refund' button it gets auto denied because the bot just goes OVER TWO HOURS, REJECTION STAMPED 
they have however made exceptions in the past when a publisher commits a critical fuckup that causes a game to be completely unplayable, though. (read: if the issue is bad enough that a class action is around the corner.)

@icedquinn Then I don't see it happening. People were warned that the forced registration would occur in the future, I believe. Nothing will happen.

@Forestofenchantment @icedquinn i don't think they were necessarily "warned." it's that the game required it at the very beginning when it launched, but it was causing matchmaking issues so they removed it. it's not crazy to think that a lot of people never connected their account and never knew the game had this requirement to begin with.
@beardalaxy @Forestofenchantment they were warned when i bought it. if they removed the warning and tags for those other two months then yeah that's a problme
