this is the "expert" that ubisoft hired for their game about SAMURAIS AND NINJAS.
:meru_death:

@beardalaxy A recent poast actually defended Ubisoft on this, not because this woman isn't terrible, but because apparently people like her have become the new norm among historians, so there's not actually a ton of respectable, non-SJW historians they could have hired. Dunno exactly how true it is, but interesting food for thought.
@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy Personally I believe it's a big game of telephone with this gone. Ubi's marketing hires the consultants who hire this woman with Ubi probably playing hands off when it comes to DEI requirements and check boxes. I do believe that whoever they hired to do consulting went about of their way to suggest this one person in particular, but Ubi most likely didn't go out of their way to hire her.
That said, considering how they brag about this game being so diverse and muh representation while they have some foot note of history nigger dressed up in samurai armor while Japanese people bow to it makes me me less inclined to believe it's Ubi being stupid and more like it's them being malicious.

@SNEK @ChristiJunior the industry is over-reliant on this kind of stuff to the point where one consultant or one consultant agency has way too much power.
