Just finished a manga called Kamigami no Itadaki. The Summit of The Gods in English.

The manga is about adventure of a guy called Fukamichi, a mountaineer who's working as a photographer. After a disaster in an expedition to climb the Everest where he caught a glimpse of a man falling to his death with his camera, he couldn't bring himself to forget that incident. He wandered around Kathmandu until he stumbled across a sketchy antique shop, inside there's an old camera from the days of the early 20th century, a pocket camera. After examining it, he found out that the camera might be the one Irvine and Mallory brought to the first attack on the Everest summit. This camera led him to meet a legendary mountaineer called Joji Habu. From there on his destiny with the greatest Japanese hiker met.

The manga is centered around mountains and the personality of both Habu and Fukamachi as they struggle with the idea of climbing mountains. Despite being born in a different era, there's something that makes the meeting between Fukamachi and Habu memorable to the former. From that point on, he became obsessed with Habu and he tries his best to hunt for stories about him. It finally resulted in another meeting, maybe destined from the start after all.

I won't write more about the plot because it would take the fun away from the story. The manga itself is quite short, just 47 chapters in total. As for my opinion of the manga itself......I shed a tear when I'm in the final chapter, that should be convincing enough. Here are some snippets that caught my attention in the manga. Go read it.
@MK2boogaloo
bros, i fucking love climbing
if you have never been climbing before i recommend trying it out, try both bouldering and sport-climbing.

honestly if i didn't start climbing i would have probably killed myself a few years ago. i never would have cared about my diet or habits, while now i can get obsessive over it.

all i can think about is the next climb and what i do to maximize my body and mind for that.

having something to live for is awesome and i hope that if anyone reading this doesn't have something just keep's trying new things until they find it.
@beardalaxy @MK2boogaloo i have been doing a lot of bouldering just as training, if you have good route setters at your gym its awesome

@momus Bouldering without pads is fine as long as you go slow.

@Suiseiseki @momus yeah, always gotta make sure to test where you're stepping and grabbing first.
