Just looked it up and somehow the Democratic Convention is a full month away. Seems weird to have the two conventions that far apart.

@ArdainianRight @Spergo1875 They’re trying to convince (or scratch together enough money to bribe) some no-hoper like Kathy Hochul to take the spot and be the one who humiliatingly loses states like California, New York, and New Jersey in the general election in November. They need someone with name recognition but also no realistic chance of securing the nomination in an ordinary election year. That leaves Hochul, among a few others.

@admin @ArdainianRight I honestly think Newsom is their best bet. Because it's not just about picking, but selling them to the public within 3 months time.

@Spergo1875 @ArdainianRight Newsom is the heir apparent for 2028. They’re not going to use him be subjected to an historic defeat against Trump when their plan is to run him after Trump is gone.

@admin @ArdainianRight OK maybe, but they had zero contingency plans for Biden when they ran him last time, just given his age and senility? I just don't see them viewing Kamala in that aspect.
Maybe we give these people too much credit for planning ahead.
We might just be at the mercy of morons.
