then they had the stones to ban stem cell research, which i probably would have had them summarily executed for depending on which quinn was there on the day

my disappointment is, sadly, eternal.

I think everyone remembers Richard Clark's famous "7 countries" quote. The Bush/Cheney/Rummy admin and the military industry that backed them wanted to hit an insane number of countries in four to five years. General Shinseki told them they'd need 300k troops just to hold Iraq and they didn't care or didn't believe him and Iraq went to shit (the documentary No End In Sight (2007) goes into great detail on this).

So of course they're going to skimp on armor, but still spend insane amounts on weapons, tanks and whatever their big contractors are lobbying for. Neither Trump or Biden expanded further into that list ... but I have a feeling next term Trump will have to bomb something after he's installed.
