My job is right next to a Ross and sometimes when their dumpster is full you can go to the side and grab stuff out of it.
it doesn't have food or other things that "go bad" so it's not dirty, and when I checked it tonight I saw a box full of socks that I grabbed.
So now I've got like 40 pairs of brand new socks.
It's kinda crazy what they throw away.
I hope the truck that hauls it off is just taking it to a goodwill or something and not the dump.

@SnugSmug nah that's straight to the dump. there is SO MUCH waste. if a retail store can't sell something it's just trashed. i frequently give people stuff for free if we won't be able to sell it even though i'm technically supposed to throw it away. back when i worked at a food place i'd always sneak some cookies out at the end of the night too because they get thrown away every night.
i understand the reasons why it happens, but it's still stupid.
