@wan @DemonSixOne @wgiwf @soravu i should be clear, i have probably equal amounts of good and bad things to say about mihoyo and their games' monetization (the bad), but i also think that they are genuinely *very* good games too. the reason they make tens of millions a month off genshit alone *isn't* because people feel the need to compulsively spend money on the game, though of course those people DO exist. rather its because a morbillion chinks feel it's reasonable to spend 5$ for a monthly pass for consistently good story content, combat content updates, and being able to guarantee yourself a cute or cool character every month or so - and of course when they release new regions the exploration experience is fucking top notch.
