@noyoushutthefuckupdad Nope. I was sure about it being this week, but not yet

There's still some days before the TGS next week, but man, I'd be real surprised if it's not shown then
@coolboymew I'm eager to see what new hardware gimmicks Nintendo's new console will have.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad they have to announce it soon because if it's being manufactured that means they're close to assembly and the full leaks will happen then

Not announcing it pre-TGS, especially with all the support Switch 1 got, makes no sense, but :shrugz:
@noyoushutthefuckupdad It probably won't release by Christmas. It will probably be Spring/March like the last Switch (or later)
@coolboymew it's Nintendo, it'll sell 50 million copies automatically.

except the Wii U and the Virtual Boy.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad Not really, outside of the Wii and DS (unsure about GBA), everything else since the N64 has had rather poor sales and increasingly so. The Switch was the only one that had a full return to form and significant 3rd party investment into it, which is the reason why I think a pre-TGS announcement would make sense as some 3rd parties are probably going to announce something for it or else they'll still be shackled to not mention it at all
@coolboymew I'm just saying that Nintendo is a religion and its followers will always buy its products.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad @coolboymew And we're saying that what you're claiming is provably false.

Again, it DOES however apply 100% to PlayStation home consoles.
@ChristiJunior @coolboymew I've seen plenty of Nintendo-worshipers. they are annoying, but you're right that the raw numbers of Sony-worshipers are higher. how many legions of people bought the no-games PS3, 4, and 5?

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @ChristiJunior @coolboymew nobody bought PS3 at first, but then as prices went way down and there were some absolute gems on the console, pretty much everyone I know had one. It was also getting into that ps2 territory where it doubled as a Blu-ray player and HD TVs were finally becoming common place, so people started buying them more then.

Then you have xbox's complete destruction at E3 with the unveiling of the Xbox one, and that pretty much sunk their ship. Lots of console fanboys dedicated themselves to sony at that point. Ps4 does have some good shit on it too, and unlike PS3 it ran multiplats better than the Xbox did.

I think a lot of people carried that hype into ps5, but I also think a lot of people have been pretty disappointed and especially with the ps5 pro being announced you are starting to see waaaay more of that.

If the switch 2 is literally just a better switch, it'll sell like crazy. Despite me really not liking Nintendo, l will still buy it because they make fantastic games. I'm also curious to try keeping it offline as long as I can because you KNOW people are going to be trying their damnest to break it open. If that shit can emulate GameCube games well I'll be all over that.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @ChristiJunior @coolboymew I think I got my PS3 for like $300 in 2009. By then it was totally worth it. Before then I was still on ps2 and Wii. Played that thing until it melted because last of us gave it a run for its money.

There was a game I really wanted to play on PC, Blacklight retribution, but I had a shit pc that could barely play left 4 dead at minimum settings so it wouldn't even launch the game. Funny enough, that game is why I bought a ps4 at launch lol. Once I really got into pc gaming around 2016 though I didn't really touch it much after that.

@beardalaxy @ChristiJunior @coolboymew blacklight retribution is what my wife does after examining my computer chair!
