@bronzeagetruecel hey you know what, you got to experience some of those older ones during their prime and that's pretty cool. not only that but you could actually understand the first playthrough xD i played wind waker when i was 7 and as soon as that triforce quest hit i had no idea wtf was going on lol.

i'm curious about the civ 6 pick. i haven't played enough of it to know how i like it in comparison to 5, but i've heard from a lot of people it wasn't as good. what makes it better in your opinion?

seeing pokemon black and white 2 in there also threw a pretty big wrench in things for me since that's a lot newer of a game and usually older gamers will have their favorites as either gen 1 or gen 2, sometimes gen 3 or 4.

@beardalaxy Playing a game like Wind Waker at age 7 seems crazy to me, a game that challenging would've reduced me to tears probably.

I choose Civ 6 over 5 because I really like the district system, forcing you to plan ahead with your cities and their locations, you can't just build everything in one mega city while neglecting the rest. Some valid criticism exists, like the liberties they took with history (Why is Harald Hardrada pagan lol) but tbh I don't really find that important. I've also seen many people complain about the preachy climate change stuff but I'm equally not bothered by that either.

As for Pokemon Black/White 2, I think that's where the series was at it's zenith while still feeling like Pokemon. Mostly because of quality of life changes, like TMs being infinite. I don't care for the newer Pokemon designs, I think they ran out of ideas around gen 4.

People who pick gen 1 or 2 are absolutely kidding themselves and have their nostalgia goggles firmly glued to their eyesockets. As a kid they were pretty incredible, but looking back through an honest lens, they were completely broken games in a myriad of ways, to a point where "its an old game" is not a valid excuse anymore.
