Final Fantasy 16 mustve been written by a redditor. I get the usual "kill god" plot the japs love to put into their games but this is "Kill God, with a capital G". And they really hammer it home that they literally mean the "abrahamic" kind of God. Biblically inspired imagery and metaphors and all that. And the protagonist is basically just le atheism "noooo this world is all we have fuck God". Really cringe. Still a fun game in every other way so whatever. Enjoy the screenshots for the full context of cringe writing. I was laughing while making them.

@Flegel @teto i think they view this sort of thing way more as something of a mythology, just like how westerners would see stuff in shinto being all myth, or in modern times how we see greek and roman and norse religions as myths. then they take inspiration from the stories to help shape their own and draw parallels too. i really don't think it is redditor-tier atheism trying to pwn Christians or something like that.
