So I'm curious. If I wanted to try playing Castlevania, which entry would you suggest and why?
@Ronnie21093 Depends on where you wanna start. For the metroid-vania RPG side, either SoTN or Aria of Sorrow are often seen as best entries, and I can say from personal experience Aria is super polished and well made.
If you want to start with the classic games, honestly just mess around with a few of them and see which one feels like a good starting entry to you. Most classic games are under a few hours long, hell some being under an hour once you get used to them. Each classic game also has its own specific mechanics and, until far later, view of the game's world and stories so there's a lot of ways to explore it. The most polished one though has to be Rondo of Blood, and it's a really good entry, so you could always pull out an emulator for that. A lot of the better entries are all now in some form of collection on PC, so checking out Anniversary collection or Advance collection isn't a bad place to start.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 that's some good info right there.

symphony of the night is a fucking phenomenal game. though, i know some people don't like it because you don't use a whip lol.

the original castlevania is one of my favorite games, but it's balls difficult. definitely make use of save states if you're gonna play through it. there is a mod out there that lets you move in the air when you jump so using that might help the difficulty quite a bit too.
