@judgedread was it not trump's admin who did that? if there was no rigging involved for 2020, i can see people being upset enough about how covid was handled to not vote for trump back then.
@judgedread ah okay idk what i was thinking, it's more that trump didn't do anything to prevent tons of businesses requiring vaccination and was pushing it pretty heavily. but yeah biden did want the actual mandate to go through.
@inTrax @judgedread wait really?? am i mandela effecting this right now?
@inTrax @judgedread holy fuck me 2020 really was just a year that doesn't exist in my brain apparently
@inTrax @judgedread my timeline of events is that covid starts in 2019, in early 2020 there are lockdowns and mask mandates all over the place, then the floyd riots in the summer, a bunch of people in hospitals on respirators and nobody could see them, and then towards the end of the year the vaccine came out and tons of places started making it mandatory to be vaccinated to work or to enter. then the mask mandates finally started getting lifted here and there in like early 2021 and later that year, there was basically no remnant of anyone giving a shit anymore.
i think part of the blur to me around when the vaccine came out is that fauci went from just being on the covid task force or whatever for trump to the actual medical advisor for biden. he was just so front and center with trump that i think that's where the confusion comes in.
i know trump was super proud about having developed the vaccine so quickly too. i think the only real winner there was big pharma.
