@rasterman if it was a male character that looked and acted exactly like her I also would be put off.
The majority of people look better than this. They make these characters ugly on purpose. I think it's more knowing exactly why they're doing it than it is just the character model in of itself.
I won't be playing it regardless though because it's naughty dog and I haven't trusted them to do anything good since I played uncharted 4 and could tell it was going downhill.
@redneonglow @ChristiJunior @rasterman I think it's a multitude of things that's going to be different for every developer. For naughty dog, I think that Neil has just gotta have some fetish. So many butch, lesbian, trans, girl boss chicks in his games.

@ChristiJunior @rasterman @redneonglow never forget that Neil mocapped both characters in this scene because Abby's actress felt too uncomfortable doing it.
Also man, the story of tlou2 is so fucking unrefined. All these weird sex scenes, making out, bla bla bla, it's all fucking meaningless. It's like they thought that's the best way to show the audience that two characters care about each other, but it feels extremely hollow when you compare it to any character interaction in the first game. It all feels out of order. Plenty of other wack shit too. The only good parts of the game are Joel's scenes and some of Tommy's. I'm actually really surprised that they went with literally killing Joel instead of just assassinating his character because his character is still so good. Apparently a decent amount of that was written when Bruce Straley was still there though so..... Not giving to much credit to the druckmann there.
But yeah anyway the character design for this chick is a complete non-factor for me just because I know it's not going to be even close to the stupidest part of this game. Kind of how I feel about Ciri's design for W4 too, which is actually not bad at all imo. I'm way more worried about the writing or open world being shit. Or just the engine being shit.
But I'll allow it because it mocks an enemy.
