>FF16 was just a DMC clone set in a fantasy universe.
Yes. and it was decent. I miss when it wasn't this fucked up dichotomy between game of the year contender or absolute shit. Things used to be allowed to be a solid B+.

@Goalkeeper I love devil may cry, been playing FF16 since it came out on PC. I don't think the two are very comparable at all besides being action games. I have the sneaking suspicion that most people who say this kind of thing either haven't played one of the games, or they haven't played either of them and just know that the combat director was the dmc guy.

Yeah besides being 3rd person action I didn't really get the comparison beyond a surface level. I think it comes from people that are upset because it's not a turn-based game.

@Goalkeeper bros haven't played final fantasy for like a decade lol it hasn't been turn based in a hot minute

@Goalkeeper devil may cry is waaaaay more cracked out with its combat, has a much bigger focus on linking combos, doesn't have nearly as high of a focus on the parry/dodge stuff, doesn't use levels or experience, is wholly linear, is way more cool edgy than dark edgy, has some platforming, in later entries let's you play as multiple characters... The list goes on. But oh, you can switch between a few abilities just like you switch between Nero's arms so it's just a dmc clone :pepeShotgun:
