:kekw: So apparently, Microsoft's newest update to W11 a while ago broke a bunch of Steam games. It was so shit that they stopped pushing the update out :cirno_laugh:

@Ronnie21093 stuff like this has happened before and it will surely happen again. I don't know how people get these updates so fast, I'm usually like a year behind

@beardalaxy Some people are stupid enough to keep automatic updates on or for some reason decide to update manually shortly after release.
@Ronnie21093 @beardalaxy microsoft constantly releases broken updates, which means that every single windows computer ends up broken in some way via a broken update (there's an auto-rollback feature that undoes a failed update that gets triggered a LOT).

There is no way to disable automatic updates via a standard mechanism - you need to use a patching script that microsoft will undo every few months via their ultra-forced update backdoor.

You actually have to pay extra for the "LTSC" to get slightly less broken updates.

Yet more reasons you'd have to be an idiot use windows.
@beardalaxy @Ronnie21093 Most people are forced to pay for windows.

If you ever buy a computer from a store that sells computers that come with windows, microsoft has a tax on all of them, whether they come with windows or not.

Any computer part you buy has a microsoft tax on it too.

Even if you were to get a copy of proprietary malware gratis, that doesn't make it not proprietary malware.

Regardless, the problem with windows is not that it has a price (although it has a huge price), the problem is that it is malware and spyware that does not respect the users freedom.
