bought a walking pad. i'll be taking an hour to walk every day and will go backwards every other day, per my fitness guru friend's instruction to help strengthen my knees and ankles. too cold to do it outside right now and i wish i could have gotten this sooner, but i had to pay a lot more rent without another roommate.

@hazlin just something simple on amazon for $90 on sale from $120. no incline or rail, fairly small. goes 4mph. it doesn't have to do too much. reviews on it were decent.

few people saying that after about a year it crapped out on them, but i figure that after a year if i'm still going strong i can buy a better one then. kind of like buying a shitty $40 guitar for your first one.

@beardalaxy @hazlin I need to learn on said guitar haha that post reminded me

Is looking up tuts a good idea?

@sendpaws @hazlin i had a basic class in 8th grade that taught all the parts of the guitar, how to tune, proper form, and how to read tablature. i was using a classical guitar and it was much harder. it was my great grandma's and i still feel really bad for trading it for a normal acoustic ;_;

once you learn those basics though you're pretty much golden as far as beginners go. next step is learning chords, but once you know tabs those are much easier to figure out. there are of course much more advanced techniques after that but that will happen later.

the hardest part about learning guitar is getting through the finger pain and building up those calluses. my pointer and middle finger tips are actually deformed from how much i play lol. a lot of it is just dedication, even if you don't feel like practicing you need to do it anyway.

@hazlin i also gotta wonder how many of the people using this are like actually obese or something. i've got a normal bmi so it'll probably last at least $90 worth.

@beardalaxy I was thinking that while looking at them xD

Like, ~260 lbs, should cover most regularly, 1970s sized people xD
