@RegalBeagle yup, apparently people are not enjoying it too much. even the positive steam reviews say stuff like "wait for a sale" and "it's not as good as doom eternal"

@beardalaxy I can't wait for AAA to go tits up. At least the indie scene is still pretty good. I forgot how much I loved RTS until I found Beyond All Reason the other day. It wasn't that I'm getting old, it's just most new games kinda suck and I don't want to play them.

@beardalaxy Did not expected that, although I hate Doom Eternal, so fuck it. Gonna play my bommer shooter made by autists in gzdoom.

@groundbeefhunter yeah i wasn't a fan of doom eternal either. played a few hours of it and it didn't hit the same way 2016 did at all. i think there was too much platforming or something.

@beardalaxy For me was the arena shooter aspect, i can't stand arena shooters. Sometimes it's fine to enter a area and all the doors close down and hundreds of enemies spawn, once or twice a level, but Doom Eternal was almost just that.

Also i hated the "No Child, you will not use this weapon against this enemy! It is incorrect. We laid down a correct strategy of engagement, and you will have to follow it, otherwise it is unoptimal, enjoy suffering". They couldn't create ways to engage the enemy in different ways, if a cacodemon shows up you HAVE to make it swallow a bomb and do a glory kill, if a arachnotron shows up then you HAVE to destroy the tail, if you don't then you will lose a lot of ammo or health, 0 alternative ways to engage.
