@theorytoe I'm guessing you're talking about gura. She didn't lose an audience at all, she had a quite large one even before being gura and now a 2min video of her just singing "saba" has 1m views. Also she's one vtuber, the vast majority of them are pretty consistent. As far as working for a company goes, you are restricted quite a lot and still have to do what they say. It doesn't matter if you earn a shit ton of money if you could still be making a good amount of money without the company overhead. Personally, I don't want something I do for fun to be controlled so I don't think I would ever join a record label or work for a game company unless the deal was entirely too good to refuse. Even then the grass might not be greener.
