@RehnyNytes256 in my 300 hours of Pokémon emerald I literally never encountered a shiny. So at least you have that.
@JustDisa @beardalaxy@gameliberty.club that sounds awesome and really fun! I can’t image that. In later games you could hunt for the shinies, but on the GBA there was no way to officially hunt for them. All random. It would be a surprise to find any just walking around.

Though to be fair I'd be fairly surprised if my total hours of playtime was more than 300. It's not even that I didn't play, I was obsessed when I was a kid. I think the multiplayer was more my jam for the vast majority of it.
And there was a point where I was into BREEDING where me and a friend of mine had our own little "Breeding Business" where we'd post shitty YouTube videos about pokemon we had for offer and we'd make trades.
We actually got a few offers. That was back when YouTube was cool.
