I had a videocamera that recorded on VHS-C then to watch what you had recorded you just had to put the small VHS on the big one and in sert in tape recorder and then you where ready to watch. NO need of a projector nor cable to wire to the tv no need of a computer.
It was simple to use.

@Dowito @coolboymew yeah that shit was cool, I actually recently just digitized my family tapes and most of them were VHS-c so I got one of those converters to play them on the player which then hooked up to a retrotink and then a capture card.
