my body's been covered in eczema for more than a month now, and when i did some research and some consulting, moisturization seems to be the key to recovery

however, in spite of my frequent lotioning, my eczema is still very itchy, very dry, very red, and very ugly all over my skin

the only part that had any major recovery has been my lips, which i've used a combination of lotion and petroleum jelly, whereas my body just received lotion

my health insurance that i don't want to renew will expire if i don't pay up, and i'd rather not visit a doctor to be told, "yeah we can't do shit lol, here's meds that might work lol"

and i also forgot that i got lanolin, because someone on the fedi recommended that when my hands were really fucked up from work

so perhaps that should help my skin get cured soon enough

nevertheless... do i really want to renew my insurance anyway, just to be safe? or do i trust my own diy medical skills to figure out something to fix myself?

@ninja8tyu have you tried hyrdrocoritsone cream? might be worth a shot if you haven't yet.

also just throwing it out there, i don't have eczema but i do have some areas with super dry skin that gets real itchy since i live in a desert. body butters work super well. i'm not sure if using them on eczema is going to work particularly well or not though, and you'll want to look at the ingredients list to make sure you're not allergic to anything, use it on a small patch of skin first, etc.

@beardalaxy hydrocortione cream no longer works on my body, for some reason

i apply, itchy next second

i got some upgraded itch cream, fluocinonide cream, which works, but you can only get through prescriptions, and i'm running low on the one i have (and it really ain't enough to cover my whole body for days until i properly recover)

so i'm fairly limited in what i can do
