I don't even mind teaching kids how to protest (read: peacefully assemble), in fact I think kids should be taught how to deal with cops too. It needs to be done in an ultra controlled environment though and with some cause that doesn't actually exist. Make it related to a character in a book they're all reading or something.
@beardalaxy I think the conundrum is that: to teach to do either safely, you'd have to drill basic risk assessment into their heads. While also deprogramming them of the delusions most people take for granted when they think of "civil disobedience". Hard to do that in the current political climate, where simple pragmatism to survive tense situations might be dismissed as "just pick up the can bro".
