@Jens_Rasmussen in March they are rolling out global age verification. You'll either need to send in your ID (which they say is checked and then erased) or use a face scan (which they say is only on your device). This is ONLY to gain access to nsfw stuff.
It has been a thing on British discord for I think a couple years now. There was a data breach of the company that Discord used to verify IDs and they all got leaked. So basically people know if you submitted your ID you were trying to goon or whatever. A lot of people have the misconception that this was an issue on Discord's end, but it wasn't.
@Jens_Rasmussen that's what I'm saying lol, if you didn't want anyone to be able to find anything out about you online you would NOT be using discord in the first place xD
I only use Discord to chat with friends anyway. Yeah, Palantir gets to see that I write "nigger" and "jew", but I'm sure they could find out who I am here on fedi too, if they really wanted to, with all their spy-tech.
