@Jens_Rasmussen yeah it's just them basically ungluing a wire that was fixed to my teeth to keep them straight after getting braces removed. nothing too crazy.
@hazlin @Jens_Rasmussen i had a coworker telling me how he clipped it with a guitar string cutter and then he filed it down with a jewel file. crazy work.
@hazlin @Jens_Rasmussen i think i know what you mean, but i don't even have a way of heating it up so that ain't gonna happen lol. that is basically what they do at the ortho though, just use a concentrated heat gun to melt the glue and then snip the wire and put some new glue on there.
@Jens_Rasmussen i don't have any insurance lol. i was surprised too. it seems like it'll be $60 to get it fully removed (so $12 per tooth at this point), i think it was cheaper last time because pretty much all they did was trim down the wire and the cement had already fallen off for the most part.
i also found out that to get removable retainers it'll only be like $300 which is way less than i was expecting, so i'm definitely gonna do that. gotta get some dental work done first but should be good after that.
Mine came loose on one side, right in the middle of the covid insanity. So, I accepted the adventure of removing it my self with some pliers xD
