These new steam deck prices and valve changing their CS2 market items to dynamic pricing makes me think Gabe Newell must've converted to Judaism or something.
@ArdainianRight @ooignignoktoo 4 months advance warning ahead of a 50 dollar increase practically makes them saints compared to the Saviors of Gaming.

@ChristiJunior @ArdainianRight @ooignignoktoo they're making their digital games cheaper too, and as much as game key cards suck they are the greatest digital compromise for consumers shy of no DRM. If your steam account gets banned, you lose your games. If you Nintendo account gets banned, you can continue using those key cards. One is more likely than the other sure, but it's a way more interesting product than anyone gives it credit for.

Nintendo is trying hard to get one-ups on the competition right now. Pun intended.

@beardalaxy @ArdainianRight @ooignignoktoo The genuinely cool thing is that some physical gaming stores have actually matched the digital price drop, and not just Amazon and Walmart - at the gaming store that I frequent, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book actually costs less than Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze!

Mario Tennis Fever is apparently the unexpected MVP here, because it flopping seems to have convinced Nintendo that they can't actually charge premium price for every single first party game.

I still fully expect the new Pokemon to be $80 physical, because Game Freak gets away with murder, but it's clearly not becoming the norm for Switch 2 games.

@ChristiJunior @ArdainianRight @ooignignoktoo dude, the fact I got star fox for $50 is like Christmas to me. I'm so stoked for that. One more month!

Mario Kart World being $80 was diabolical. Seriously that game is barely worth $60.

@beardalaxy @ChristiJunior @ArdainianRight

That reminds me I should sell my SNES star fox while the iron is hot right now on interest. It looks like it's worth about $20 right now. Star Fox on the SNES was a cool game for it's time but it's aged like milk in 2026 with it's piss poor framerate. Was a cool techdemo showing what the SNES is capable of with enhancement chips however.

@ooignignoktoo @ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior I bought an N64 to play star fox 64 on it and I'm not gonna give it up so easily lol. Even if the pc port is really good.
