@WandererUber old dude used AI for his cover letter and my boss was glazing it. told her it was AI and she moved the goalposts to "well he knows how to use AI, that means he is computer savvy!" i told her i could tell because of the emdashes and she was like "oh yeah, only people like me who did a lot of editing work use emdashes." absolute egomaniac. i was going to ask her what the ascii code for it was but i was like whatever.... just drop it —_— bet she doesn't even know what an alt code is.

@beardalaxy @WandererUber fairly certain ascii doesn't have en and em dashes. it uses the same codepoint (0x2D, -) for the punctuation mark hyphen and the arithmetic operator minus.
