I hate it when people say "I was just so busy" as an excuse for why they didn't want to do something when I know DAMN well that they were really just spending a shit ton of time playing video games or watching anime or some shit. You weren't busy, you just didn't want to do it. NPC ass dialogue that's just loaded up as a default response.
ironically, much of the study work on high status people specifically entails not bullshitting and just saying "no." high status people heavily gatekeep the "yes" and aggressively deliver, but the default human agrees to everything and skips town or kind of non-answers out of it (face saving.)
