what's with all these people that are so fucking upset that ocarina of time remake has a quest log because "i beat it when i was 8 years old and i never used a guide once." i call BULLSHIT dude. even if that is true, there is something else going on there. they had to ask a friend for help getting through some part, or their dad. maybe it was the only game they had and they just no-lifed it, eventually coming to the solution after playing for hundreds of hours.

it is the least egregious way possible to implement this kind of thing too, as far as i can tell there aren't quest markers it just gives you a little summary on what you've already done and where you should go next. it's basically turning navi's interjection hints into a neat menu.

i think this is people lying to make themselves seem like more professional gamers that are better than the rest of the dumb, retarded gamers out there that need dumb things like guides so they can beat games. there's no way a real gamer has gone their whole life without using a guide, i'm sorry there just isn't. we've all used them at some point.

@beardalaxy At first I couldn't even beat the Water Temple WITH a guide...

Ocarina of Time took me well over a year to beat back in the day, and it honestly feels like waaaaay longer than that, but I know it can't have been, because I had finished the game well before Majora's Mask came out in Japan.
It feels incredibly short now, maybe just because I know the game so well. It does feel frustrating gathering all this gear and the game is now over. Wish there were a few more dungeons tacked on that required all of the gear.

@ShadowBroker @ChristiJunior i can see the frustration there for sure, you don't get a lot of time with your full arsenal. they did do a decent job of incorporating it into the final boss battle, but they could have gone further.

much better than the wild era games though when it comes to that, for sure. they have no gear to speak of and their final boss battles don't require the use of any of the powers, as far as i can remember. you just hit ganon really hard with big stick pretty much. extremely cinematic and seeing dorf's HP bar go off the screen in totk was cool, but yeah, mechanically extremely simple in comparison.
