:kekw: I really just saw someone complain about Touhou EoSD NC being locked to 60 FPS.
Then he immediately started promoting an AI slop mod he threw together to uncap the game's FPS :kekw:
@Ronnie21093 That's so dumb. Retard behavior.

Though I will admit, I kind of want thcrap to get support for the game soon so some fucker can uncap FPS properly. Not because it would benefit the game, but because I want there to exist exact opposite patches. One to fix the original release having no FPS cap, and one to make the new release a broken mess without an FPS cap. :cirno_heh:
@Iffine The modern "gamer" fails to understand that very high FPS isn't everything. (Then again I might just be used to Arma 3 FPS)

Ngl that would be funny. And God knows some people out there would try and find the absolute FPS limit TH6 can still be cleared at :cirno_heh:
@Ronnie21093 >find the absolute FPS limit TH6 can still be cleared at

The answer is technically any so long as you feel lucky. :cirno_heh: The real answer is you're going to have a frustrating to nearly impossible time on anything over 60fps. The games were designed with it in mind, logic and everything, so the more you add the more desync and random problems you get. Even just doubling the framerate would likely make most bullet patterns unrecognizable and some impossible to dodge (and you're not going to have any cheat tools like Seija has). Pretty sure things like replay logic and whatnot also work off this, so a difference in FPS could lead to impossible to verify replays. :thonk:

I'll be honest FPS arguments have degraded so much over time it's genuinely mind-numbing to read any. FPS is a terrible metric to judge a game by unless it's actually creating a problem, such as impeding gameplay. If it hits a stable 60, that's more than good enough.
@Iffine Still, some people would definitely try to clear the game with higher FPS.

And yeah, I kind of agree. Again though, I've gotten used to how much Arma 3's FPS can fluctuate. After a while you can even get used to ~10 FPS in that can and even see it as playable :guraKekw:
@Ronnie21093 >After a while you can even get used to ~10 FPS in that can and even see it as playable

Look, if Stranger of Paradise taught me anything, it's that I'm willing to put up with a lot for the sake of a game I enjoy.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 10 fps is getting way too low for me lol. that's why i can't play star fox on the SNES. it runs at like 13 FPS or something along those lines. just hurts to look at. ocarina of time on original hardware runs at 20 FPS and that's about as low as i'll go. the frame rate in oot is super solid though and playing on a CRT helps for sure.

which reminds me, i gotta check out the pc port of the OG starfox. actually runs at higher frame rates now without speed up. has support for star fox ex too.

@beardalaxy @Iffine Arma 3's FPS can fluctuate quite a bit, especially with mods so you kind of have to get used to it if you intend to play it long term.
No amount of throwing additional GPU power, CPU power or RAM beyond the recommended specs can help because the game isn't built to be able to use all those resources.
