@matana this opens a convo about how we tend to conflate justice with punishment. perhaps its the very reason why American police are garbage, because instead of focusing on making things right and aiding communities that ask for it, they instead simply look to punish those that are in the wrong, to the point of abusing ethnic stereotypes to find these jackasses
