Throwback Thursday.

Remember when olestra (a fat substitute) was approved by the FDA in 1996?

It was never banned, but products containing it were discontinued.

Olestra is a kind of oil your body doesn't digest, so it comes out same form it came in, causing anal leakage.

Word got around pretty quick, as young women wanting to "eat healthy" started shitting themselves.

Sales went down the shitter after the patent expired (originally patented by P&G), and sales declined into oblivion.

Fun times.

@HWABAG @coded_artist Pringles Light potato crisps, manufactured by Kellogg's (though at one time a P&G product), used Olean-brand olestra before being discontinued in 2015.[7]
@coded_artist I've been clogging the pipes with some dense ones lately, maybe I'll take a tablespoon of olestra to see if it helps. I'm sure it's available on alibaba or something.

What's that? Drink more water? hehehe no
@coded_artist I was just talking about this yesterday, we basically have a choice between being experimented on with fake food in Yankee territory or eating water pie with a very stabby somalian in Bongland. Or both if you live in a coastal city.
