Just finished Ys X, really great game. I'd rank it above IX, but below VIII.
Also, am I the only one who prefers Karja's original Norman outfit to her Carnac clothes? I put her back in that bad boy (with the helmet on of course) as soon as the game allowed it as an option.

@coded_artist I mean, you pretty much got it right, Karja ends up being more of a Big Sister type, *most* of the time - there is one pretty big ship tease, but it's kinda played for laughs. And anyway, there is already a supporting character who definitely seems to have feelings for Karja, even if he doesn't openly confess his love over the course of the game.
