Chained Echos is really good. It takes what was good about SNES-era JRPGs and puts just enough modern twist on it. I'm about 3 hours in and really enjoying it. There have been several deliberate nods to Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. Totally worth 25 bucks and it supports a super small team.

@gruyere I'll have to check it out. Have you heard of Ara Fell? I have no doubt in my mind that if it were released on the SNES in 1994 it would have been an instant classic.
