Per GB DVDs cost a lot compared to BD now. Also for BD support avoid LTH coating, the lifespan of the coating is lower than HTL.

Your welcome. Tbh we will never know if the media will ever live 1k years, I doubt it imo, but considering it I think it would easily withstand at least one life time if well stored. And even in non optimal storage the thing can resist to a lot of damage. If you go read the laboratory stress test please read the whole documents and what kind of stress it is. A lot of people do read them and say "but it failed the test" .
