When i made the glasses for the model of Rei, i was getting worried because despite they being flat like real life glasses, the didn't looked good on all camera angles. Then i just saw that animators and artists just bend the glasses how they see fit depending on the angle of the camera/character head

@hideki holy hell.. i've never realized that 0.0

@rick it's very funny. On certain takes they can make them look flat, and on others they are bent to the head's shape

@hideki mhh arn't glasses normally slightly bend too? not so far as in your first post, but a little bit?

@rick mine's are flat, but i've seen that they can adjust the bent a bit to adjust them better to your head shape to be more comfortable

@hideki ah okay.. at least the second patch looks quite more natural.

i find it very interesting that your brain accepts stuff from anime without a second thought.. like eye, nose sizes etc. and as soon it gets more to photo realism your freak out how 'unnatural this looks' :awoothink:

@rick yeah! sometimes the profile of the anime faces is very snouty, you don't note it at first but when you inspect it carefully it looks even kinda ridiculous.

@rick now compare these camera angles to the change of the curvature of the glasses... it's laughable :bloblul:

@hideki arhh.. no i have to look at every glasses in anime..

just watched an episode of skeleton knight.. and an elf had glasses on.. aaahhh :laughing_cirno:

btw, you took an great anime for your example pictures... shirobako is rly good :3
